Colors for a Girl's Bedroom

We are all girls at heart! As you can see, the original neutral on the walls overshadows the whimsy and fun of this girly room, soon to be “Devinized”. The bedding will transition nicely from a young girl’s room into a teen den. I love the ability to do two colors in the room and take advantage of the architecture. As you will see, I have all ceilings painted in the same color as above the chair rail. To leave it white would make the colors look like an uneven sandwich.
You can see that there are green swatches on the wall, a light and dark variation. Remember, painting color samples on an already painted wall makes the color hard to see. The color painted next to the white molding helps. What you can do is tape white strips of paper around the color swatches to isolate the colors from the existing wall color…

To start, I will try on the green idea. For this look, try devinegreen: Peacock, devinegreen: Trillium, or Devine Cypress. I like it, its beautiful of course especially if you love green.

Next, let’s try two of the colors in the bedding. This is a full commitment to pink and green…For this look try Devine Berries & Cream with one of the green colors above

But hey, what if you wanted to leave options open? How about mixing some of those pinks and greens up with others great Devine Color possibilities.

For this look try Devine Berries & Beans with Devine Mocha, Sumatra, or Medallion. The pink looks like frosting on a milk chocolate cake. It’s a little more grown up.

For this look try a soothing green like Devine Moss, Devine Date, or one of the greens above with a rich neutral under the chair rail such as Devine Cocoa or devinegreen: Bison.
But then what if you want your pink to be all grown up?
For this look try Devine Mo’ Pink or devinegreen: Flamingo on top with Devine Cocoa, devinegreen: Bison, or Devine Jacquard.

It’s nice to think out of the box and our colors let you do that. Add other colors into the mix like Devine Gold, Devine Birch, Devine Denim, or Devine Saffron to break out of the pink and green mold! It is all about personal taste and how much you love color!
