Book: Great Ideas

Coming back from my trip to Puerto Vallarta, I brought with me a great book called IDEAS: WEEK-END HOMES by AM Editores, authors Fernando de Haro and Omar Fuentes, photography Michael Calderwood.

What I love about the book is how it illustrates contemporary design, not often seen, in warm, large scale. You know what I mean, most contemporary furniture is relatively small and thin. This book show us how hot blooded cultures use contemporary restraint to accomplish a bigger-than-life modern look.

Where you wont find restrain is in the color, of course. That is where you can feel the freedom of color being an abundant gift!
There are 265 pages of pictures, pictures, and more pictures that make you want to turn your home into a week-end home, every day. Every color imaginable translates into beautiful, relaxing, energizing, and interesting color palettes. I saw Devine colors everywhere, eternal and timeless in nature.

Look for amazing color, clean architecture, lots of stunning wood features, strong shapes, many design solutions for every room, and of course, what we wished we all had, a great blue ocean in the back yard. No worries, there are plenty of pool and patio designs to consider incorporating in your own paradise.

This book is perfect for couples who have conflicted styles, one wanting cool contemporary, the other seeking homy comfort.
