Let the children play!

I often get approached by a parent who want to make sure their kid does not go “color crazy”. If not then, when, I say. Kids imaginations step in when they are developing the many ways learn to express who they are. Don’t worry, they will grow in and out of fads, but with color, they can learn to have confidence if given the freedom to try and fail. What a safe way to learn that life-lesson! :) Treat them like a guest and close the door.

Hello – we have been using Devine Paint and we love it. My 14 year old daughter has decided that she wants to paint her room black and green. We will go along with the green, but have said “no” to the black. What other suggestions would you have?

Subject: Greetings from Devine Color

Oh Anonymous, remember, she will then go off to college and apartment living for a long time and wont be able to paint walls, so I say, yes to the black in the right proportion…..black lacquer furniture with a green and black striped accent wall would be very “French” and exceptional. Try Devine Green tea with Devine Piping, or Devine Pistachio Lime with Devine Leather. If black is a no go, Try Devine Shantung. Good luck

Gretchen,

Thank you for helping me reset my priorities! Natalie is the youngest of our three daughters and tends to be a little less girlie than the other two. If we were to go with the stripes on one wall, how do we keep from making it come out looking like a prison? J

Our friends first told us about Devine Paint a few years ago and we have been using it and telling as many people who will listen about it as well. My husband says he won’t even waste his time on any other paint.

Again, thank you for your response!

Regards,

Hello Anonymous:

Make sure that the stripes either vary, in size of in style (maybe 1 fat, 3 skinny, 1 fat). Maybe add a detail like polka-dots! Good luck and thanks so much for the great compliment on our paint!

  1. My 5 year old daughter and 3 year old son share a small bedroom just off our kitchen. I wanted them to have a large say in choosing its colors. My daughter wanted me to try to match her favorite blue skirt, and since it wasn’t pink and her brother liked it too, we went for it. After much deliberation and compromise we have painted the ceiling and top part of the walls in Full o Beans and the bottom half in Devine Blue, with Whip trim. When I am in the room, it looks nice and crisp and neither too masculine nor feminine. However, when viewed from our kitchen (painted in 1/2 strength Hazelnut and Spice) it seems neon and garish. I love the Full o Beans on top, but am wondering about repainting the bottom half in a more neutral shade. Any ideas? I tried blues and yellows before I went with the all-blue palette, but I couldn’t make it work. The room has little natural light.
Thanks so much. I love your paint. – Karen

Thanks for your personal endorsement of our paint! It speaks way louder to others who have not used it than anything I can say to have them try it for the first time! OK, so with kids, its like you are renting an apartment and the renter has very different ideas about color lol. So to make it more harmonious from your kitchen.. can you compromise and paint the bottom: Devine Storm, Bison, Mocha, or Shark? OR maybe…just and idea.. Cayenne?...whachathink?
